Despite the very windy weather, Canada Bay Greens members and supporters turned out to meet and eat In Real Life at the launch of our Local Government election campaign.
Cheering campaigners on was Balmain MP, Jamie Parker, who reviewed how his suburb transformed from being a working class Labor suburb to a Greens stronghold once residents realized that the Greens stood for more accountable and progressive policies than either of the major parties. Currently, Jamie is focused on saving Callan Park from becoming a commercial free-for-all rather than a community-based resource.
The BBQ event also offered attendees the opportunity to organize the usual campaigning activities such as letterboxing, pre-poll attendance and election day management.
